That’s right. The summer holiday is nearly over, and every parent can sit back and breathe a collective sigh of relief. We made it!
To be truthful, I always have mixed feelings. I love getting back into some kind of routine again, and to have a few hours to get jobs and bits of housework done. On the other hand, I also look forward to those special days when I get to take Amberley out on little adventures.
Unfortunately those outings are getting less and less. It’s not through lack of trying but, at almost ten-years-old, my little lady would rather lock herself in her bedroom with her iPad and wear PJ’s all day. Like most things, I then have a debate with myself whether she’s just being lazy or if it’s one of her autistic tendencies. So, I try for a happy medium and alternate; one day at home, one day out.
This obviously wasn’t possible when we were on holiday. If you’ve never tried sleeping under canvas with an easily bored and energetic almost-teen with no access to the internet and attempted to have a “quiet day” at the campsite, I really don’t recommend it!

I didn’t get any writing done but I did read all of Freed, so I’m now starting Throne of Glass. I’ve heard a lot of good reviews for the series, I just hope it lives up to my expectations.
Creatively, I may not have achieved much over August, but I did manage to slay my formatting demons/satisfy the Kindle Gods. So I bring great news!
Shadows of the Circus will be available to download from September 8th, completely FREE!

Keep an eye on my social media for more updates and follow along with the official launch.
So, it goes without saying that my goal for this month is to get SotC out there, but I’ll also be working on the edits of Sorceress of Flame. I’m going to be busy-busy to the end of this calendar year, especially with National Novel Writing Month around the corner.
Right, time for me to get back to it. I have school uniform to finish putting together. Wish me luck!
Take care, Jodie xxx
