October – Seaside, Woodland and Child Free Cocktails

Hello from a surprisingly mild Sherwood Forest!

We are currently on our yearly trip to Center Parcs and I’ve already given my Apple Watch a shock with my active minutes for the day. We ended the day with a trip to the swimming area (Hello hot tub!) and a family dinner of a pre-made lasagna washed down with a glass of wine.

I love it here. Being so close to nature with its own microclimate, its like a bubble that you don’t want to burst, and let’s not mention the readily available Starbucks. Please don’t make me leave!

This isn’t my only little break away in recent weeks. We’ve also been over to Bridlington where we spent the weekend in a ginormous Victorian house, and came home with a sprained ankle (Thank you pothole!). I did get to take lots of lovely photo’s just up the coast at Flamborough Head though.

September brought my first night out-out in a long while. We went to the theatre to see Waitress the musical, and it was fantastic. It felt great to see a show again. Then we headed out for cocktails. It was very civilised though, and we did manage to return on the second to last train (Which is best avoided.), though I’m sure the police were taking precautions. I mean, when three mums go out for the first time in over a year without their kids, who can blame them?

With all of this going on, I’ve not had much time to sit at my computer. I have been posting a lot more regularly on social media though, and I’ve got a good grasp of where I am with each of my projects.

I don’t know if I will finish my prequel by the end of October, but I’m going to give it a good go. I’m also going to prep my NaNoWriMo project with the hopes of launching into it as soon as the 1st November arrives. It’s not a new project, in fact I’m already around 20,000 words in, but I know there are a lot of people who will be excited that I’m stepping back into that world. Maybe the change in scenery will give me a creative boost too. Who knows?

Anyway, I wanted to keep this one fairly short and sweet. I’m actually quite tired and I’m just polishing off my evening cuppa, so I will catch you at the same time next month for a catchup. In the meantime, keep an eye out for this month’s Q&A, and feel free to visit me on Instagram or Facebook.

Take care, Jodie xxx
