Drip, drip, drop, little April showers…

How was your first day of April? Were you fooled, or were you the fool? I spent most of the day at home alone so, apart from the few strange articles and posts on the internet, no-one got me.

Now, onto business. Did you set some goals for the month ahead? Setting goals are so important to me as they are a way of bringing joy into my life. Not only do I reward myself when I hit my goals, I also get great satisfaction from crossing something off my list (I love a good list). For most people, you wouldn’t get on a bus or train without a destination in mind, would you?

I maybe a day late but I had already planned out what I want to achieve for the month ahead. Some of my goals are writing based, others are personal, but I am going to try my hardest to complete them all. I’m not going to beat myself up though if I don’t manage something, I can just carry it forward to next month. Remember, you set the rules.

April

  • Read two works from fellow Indie authors.
  • Write 20,000 words as part of CampNaNoWriMo*.
  • Batch up my Murder Mystery.
  • Revise The Sorceress.
  • Blog more.
  • Begin reading my oracle cards again.
  • Meditate regularly.
  • Continue to work on my fitness.
  • Complete decorating the porch.
  • Tidy the back garden and plant some veggies.

CampNaNoWriMo takes place every April and July. You join a virtual cabin with a handful of other writers where you can chat and encourage each other to achieve your writing goals. You set your own goals, mine is to write 20,000 words but others write more, less or even just use the time to edit. It really is up to you.

I think that will be enough to get on with as there is a two week school holiday in the middle of the month and who knows how much that will affect my productivity.

I would love to hear some of your goals for April. Good luck and I will check in again very soon.

Jodie xx
